The Yogic Kitchen

Nourishment Rooted in Ancient Ayurvedic Wisdom

The European Yoga Festival kitchen follows ancient Ayurvedic principles, offering meals designed to cleanse, energise, and restore balance. This carefully prepared mono-diet is vegetarian, gluten-free, and 100% organic, supporting both physical vitality and deep yogic practice.

Every meal is thoughtfully crafted to fuel the body, calm the mind, and uplift the spirit, using ingredients that aid digestion, enhance well-being, and maintain internal harmony. Non-spicy and dairy-free options are available, along with a dedicated children’s menu.

For those with allergies or food intolerances, please refer to the ingredient lists below.

What's Served

A day in the Yogic Kitchen follows a rhythm that aligns with the body’s natural cycles, providing nourishment exactly when it’s needed. Here is an example of a typical day’s menu:

Breakfast

Wake up to spicy potato soup alongside fresh bananas and oranges. The spices and celery in the soup support digestion and detoxification, while fruit provides a light, sustaining energy boost for later in the day.

Morning Snack

Just before the All-Camp Workshop, attendees gather outside the Big Top to share slices of juicy watermelon, offering hydration and a energy boost before movement and practice.

Dinner

As the day winds down, you can enjoy a nourishing bowl of mung beans and rice (kitcheree) is served—a simple yet deeply sustaining dish that has long been a staple in yogic diets.

The protein-rich mung beans and easily digestible rice are paired with spicy hot sauce to support internal cleansing, carrots and beets for added minerals and liver support, and fresh salad to provide essential vitamins and enzymes.

Evening Drinks

As night falls, Yogi Tea and Golden Milk are served, offering a blend of soothing spices and healing herbs. Golden Milk, made with turmeric, supports joint health and reduces inflammation, with both dairy and non-dairy options available, sweetened or unsweetened.

During White Tantric Yoga

A special Tantric Lunch is served— designed to support the body’s increased energy demands during deep meditative practice.

Children’s Meals

A dedicated kitchen prepares healthy, child-friendly meals to ensure younger festival-goers receive the nourishment they need. Meals are served in the langar field, with the first few lines dedicated to children’s portions. Throughout the day, additional snacks are available in the Children’s Camp, providing them with energy to fully enjoy their festival experience.

Allergies & Food Intolerances

We strive to accommodate dietary needs, but as we serve hundreds of meals per day, it is important to note: Only kitchen staff are permitted inside the kitchen for hygiene and safety reasons. We do not use gluten-based ingredients, but cross-contamination may occur—please consider this if you require a strict gluten-free diet. Non-spicy meals are available in the children’s langar line. If you require a non-spicy option, please wait until after children have been served.
