For Women

Red Tent

The Red Tent is part of a global Red Tent movement led by thousands of women who share a vision of healing and transforming the world.

The Red Tent is an ancient practice, to bring us back to much that has been disregarded in recent millennia. It is an observance of the laws of Nature, the needs of women as well as a space for healing through the honouring of the Divine Feminine. The Red Tent is a communal space exclusive to women, for regeneration on many levels: physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual.

Yogi Bhajan always reminded women how important it is to rest on the first few days of their menstruation. He also encouraged women to take the so-called “peanut hour” where they would gather, chat and talk while eating peanuts.

Being in the space of the Festival can bring on your period when you weren’t expecting it, bring up emotions, bring unexpected challenges…our Red Tent has a team of sevadars to help hold a space of self care, sisterhood, and peace and quiet. Menstrual products are available at the Red Tent.

The Red Tent hosts a lively morning workshop programme on topics lead by women, for the empowerment and inspiration of our sisters.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The European Yoga Festival is a safe and welcoming place for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

We recognise that pregnant and breastfeeding women are already doing full time service for their little one. As such, you do not need to sign up for another Karma yoga missel – we have a created a pregnancy/breastfeeding missel group just for you!

Please join these morning meetings, so we can support you with tips about where to get non-spicy food and extra snacks, where the warm showers are, the best bathrooms, how best to approach the Tantra Days. The Red Tent is also there to support you throughout the day.

Yogi Bhajan honoured every aspect of womanhood, and the 120th day of pregnancy is an important day to celebrate. On that day we welcome the soul entering the womb of the mother and bless the mother with chanting, food and presents. Please let your missel leader know if you will be here on your 120th day.

For LGBTQA+ Community

With the Rainbow Tent we want to contribute to creating a safe, supportive framework that enables encounters.

We want to help create compassion and acceptance towards yourself.

In doing so, we are not exclusively targeting LGBTQI+, but everyone:

It is important to us to reduce subtle fears, insecurities and discomfort when dealing with queer people.

For each evening, we have been able to attract different speakers to offer brief input and share insights.

They contribute to breaking down barriers.

They stand for an open exchange, lived inclusion, perspectives, and experiences beyond heteronormativity.

You are invited to discuss ideas, think outside the box and change your perspective:

Bright brains come and learn together!
