Please choose one of the following that best describes from the students’ perspective the experience of your class – this will be listed in the programme. When choosing one, put yourself in the student’s perspective and ask: What will I walk away with as the main experience of this class?
Class track*
- Kundalini Yoga and Meditation- Traditional class structure: warm ups, a yoga set and a closing meditation, this may be organised around a given theme.
- Meditation- Focus on a deep meditation practice (can include short warm-up Kriya).
- Naad/Chanting- Focus on live music, chanting, Naad, and Kirtan, etc.
- Movement- Focus is on physical movement but not Kundalini Yoga specific. Ie; Bhangra, Shakti Dance, Celestial Communication, Gatka, etc
- Healing- Primary focus on healing modalities, and/or the process of healing through Kundalini Yoga technology – this includes massage, Sat Nam Rasayan, etc.
- Sound Healing – focus on healing through sound, e.g., gong, crystal bowls, etc.
- Women’s Teachings – Classes on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan for Women
- Men’s Teachings – Classes on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan for Men
- Humanology – classes on yogic philosophy and psychology, based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan
- Sikh Dharma- Focus on the lifestyle and technology of Sikh Dharma
- Lecture/Discussion- Focus on sharing and disseminating information in a Sit/Listen/Share format (this can also include experiential elements – meditation, group sharing).

Sound

Please keep in mind that the European Yoga Festival is an outdoor Festival. Workshops are mostly held outside, without electricity connection, though we have a few rooms available. Expect to need to be flexible with your teaching to adapt to this environment, and to take into account that there will be workshops next to you.

Teacher agreement

Please read this agreement thoroughly and acknowledge your agreement by ticking the box at the bottom, and typing in your name and date.

If you do not agree to any of the following, you will not be able to teach at the European Yoga Festival.
1. NKYTA membership. You are a member in good standing of your national Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association or of IKYTA.
2. Insurance. You have valid teaching insurance, that covers teaching outside the country in which you are covered.
3. Ethics. You are in good standing with the Ethics and Professional Standards committee, and you agree to and abide by the Code of Excellence (link to their website).
4. Cancellation. You understand the cancellation policy is 30 days before the start of the Festival, in writing to Indi : learning@3ho-europe.org. If no prior contact is made and you do not come to teach your class, it is likely you will not be invited to teach again at the European Yoga Festival.
5. Class timings. You understand that it is important to start and end your class on time. Please make an effort to be at your class location 15 minutes ahead of the start time, to allow time to set up, and so that participants who arrive early will see that they are in the right place. Even if the overall camp schedule is running late for some reason, classes will still need to end on time.
6. Consideration of other classes. You understand that this is an outdoor festival, and that other classes are taking place nearby. Keep this in mind when planning your classes, and avoid loud sounds that will disturb other classes, including: loud music, loud gong, students yelling. Your sensitivity to other classes is appreciated.
7. Karma Yoga. Teachers will be required to sign up to karma yoga and join their group every day to carry out this service. Karma Yoga is an integral part of the Festival and its functioning, and Teachers are requested to be an inspiring example to others. Please check the karma yoga schedule – even if you have other duties at the Festival, you are sure to find something that fits your schedule – veggie chopping or tantric burger making happen at sadhana time, for example.
