Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
at the European Yoga Festival

A supportive environment for mothers, parents, and growing families.

The European Yoga Festival welcomes pregnant participants, breastfeeding parents, and families with deep care and attention. We want your experience to be safe, nourishing, and fully supported throughout your stay.

This page offers an overview of the resources available at the Festival, along with practical guidelines to help you prepare. We understand the dedication required for pregnancy and breastfeeding. You don’t need to sign up for additional Seva; just let us know in advance so we can add you to the special group (Missl) for pregnant and breastfeeding participants.

Before You Begin: Safety Check-In for Pregnant Participants

If you are pregnant—at any stage—we kindly ask you to check in with our First Aid team upon arrival.

This brief check-in is recommended so that:

  • You can inform our medical staff of your needs.

  • They can note any relevant health considerations.

  • You receive personalized guidance about participation in physical activities, sadhana, and kriyas.

  • In case of emergencies, the team already has the essential information to support you quickly and effectively.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Misl

  • Join our morning meetings for support, including advice on non-spicy food, extra snacks, warm showers, preferred bathrooms, and navigating Tantra Days. Additionally, the Red Tent will provide support throughout the day. Celebrate your 120th day of pregnancy with blessings.

  • We celebrate the 120th day of pregnancy. Let your seva group leader know if you’ll be here on your 120th day for blessings and celebrations.

Yoga, Movement & Workshop Participation During Pregnancy

You are welcome to enjoy the Festival and participate in many classes. However, pregnancy requires mindful adaptation:

  • Always listen to your body and practice within your comfort zone.

  • Avoid strong or heating kriyas, breath retentions, breath of fire, core exercises, and exercises that create high intra-abdominal pressure.

  • Choose gentle, restorative, meditative classes when possible.

  • If in doubt, ask the teacher before the session whether the class is suitable for pregnancy.

  • The Festival cannot provide pregnancy-specific modifications in all classes; therefore, self-responsibility and discernment are essential.

  • Pregnant women can participate in White Tantric Yoga®,before seven months, following the same limitations as in other Kundalini Yoga practices.

For early mornings:

  • Participation in Aquarian Sadhana is optional. You are welcome to join in a quiet, gentle way—sitting, listening, or meditating—without pressure to physically participate.

Breastfeeding at the Festival

  • We warmly welcome breastfeeding in all areas of the Festival.

To support you, we provide:

  • Access to fresh drinking water throughout the site.

  • Permission to bring your baby into workshops, sadhana, and activities as long as it feels safe and respectful for the group environment.

  • Access to food throughout the day if needed.
” Please note that babies must always remain under the supervision of their parent or guardian.”
